Exploring Layers: A Journey Through My Latest Abstract Paintings
Art is a journey, a way to express emotions, thoughts, and the intangible essence of places and moments. With my latest three paintings, I’ve aimed to explore different facets of color, texture, and meaning. Each piece tells its own story while inviting you to create your own interpretations. Let me take you on a walk through my newest works.
“Vermilion Days” is a bold exploration of energy and intensity. Layers of fiery reds dominate the canvas, with hints of other colors breaking through to create depth and complexity. The title speaks to a time of passion, transformation, and fleeting moments of inspiration. The textured surface adds a tactile quality, suggesting that these days are not smooth or simple but layered with challenges and triumphs.
This piece is not just about the color red; it’s about how it makes you feel; the warmth, the fire, and the unrelenting energy. It’s an invitation to reflect on your own "vermilion days" and the emotions that accompany them.
“Blue Is Not a Color” challenges the way we perceive and label what we see. At first glance, it’s an expanse of vivid blue, but the textured scratches and faint glimpses of other hues reveal much more. This piece isn’t just about the color blue; it’s about everything that blue can represent - from tranquility to melancholy, from infinite skies to deep oceans.
The title provokes thought: is blue really just a color, or is it an experience, a feeling, a space for introspection? By delving into its layers, I wanted to convey the idea that there’s always more beneath the surface, waiting to be discovered.
“Montenegro” is my tribute to a place that has left a lasting impression on me. Bold strokes of orange and coral evoke the fiery sunsets over Montenegro’s rugged landscapes, while soft pinks and muted greens reflect the gentle interplay of pastel skies and earthy tones. The painting’s abstract composition mirrors the duality of Montenegro’s beauty - striking yet serene.
Through its layered textures and harmonious colors, I aimed to translate the feeling of being immersed in Montenegro’s atmosphere. It’s a piece that invites viewers to feel the warmth and quiet complexity of the place and perhaps even dream of their own journeys.
A Thread of Connection
Though distinct in subject and tone, these three paintings are connected by their exploration of depth, emotion, and interpretation.
Art, for me, is not just about creating something beautiful; it’s about opening a dialogue, evoking feelings, and sparking curiosity. I hope these works inspire you to see beyond the surface and find your own meaning within them.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I’d love to hear your thoughts and interpretations. Which of these pieces speaks to you the most? Let’s start a conversation.
