I visited Lutheran Church of Redeemer in the Summer of 2015. One of the first things that struck me was the very sophisticated contemporary structure of the main entrance. A custom glass mosaic depicting the Transfiguration of Jesus, a subject central to Eastern Orthodox Christian art, designed and fabricated by Apperlo Art.

The sanctuary is a brick-walled octagon punctuated with softly colored stained-glass windows. The altar is the center of the room, dominated by a Tau cross, which is in the shape of a capital letter T. The granite of the large baptismal font at the entrance to the sanctuary is repeated in a slab under the altar, tying together the two sacraments of baptism and communion. Brenda Belfield designed eight triptych style stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes and history of Episcopal Church in America, while the fabrication and installation of stained glass windows were executed by Stanisic Art Glass Studio. Completion of the project took nine years, approximately one triptych per year.
