Every work begins as a commission. These are the disciplines the studio practices, each shown through finished work. Each piece is designed, fabricated and installed by the same two people.

Commissioning a work
Most commissions begin with a conversation about the place: where the work will hang or stand, who will see it and how the light moves through the day. From there we prepare a design proposal with a budget range, refine it with you and build it in the studio.

We study the site, the architecture and the people who will live with the work, then agree on a story and a scale.
Design
Drawings and a full color design are refined with you until every line, figure and proportion is right.
Material selection
Venetian smalti, stained and antique glass, stone and ceramic are chosen piece by piece for color, light and durability.
Fabrication
Every tessera is cut and set by hand, and every stained glass panel is leaded and soldered in our Bonita Springs studio.
Installation
We install the work ourselves, indoors or outdoors, so that it meets the building exactly as designed.
