Restoration of the war damaged stained glass windows of the parish Church of Saint Joseph in Marijin Dvor, Sarajevo, by Stanisic Studio in 2001, with new frames for 4 windows.
Bringing back the light
The parish Church of Saint Joseph in Marijin Dvor, designed by Karel Pařík and built between 1936 and 1940, was damaged in the war of 1992 to 1995. In 2001 Stanisic Studio restored its stained glass window by window, panel by panel, and made new frames for 4 windows. Every restored window carries the names of the families and institutions who gave its restoration, among them the Municipality of Centar and Cardinal Vinko Puljić. It was the first post war restoration of a cultural monument in Sarajevo by a firm from Serbia.
