A braid of light

For the chapel at Praskvica, the old monastery above Sveti Stefan in Montenegro, Stanisic Studio made 4 tall arched stained glass windows in 2007, about 62 square feet of glass, from designs by the artist Branka Stijović. In each, a braided ribbon of red and orange rises from a burst of leaves and bends over in an arch at the top, against rows of upward pointing leaves of glass, in 2 palettes: green, turquoise and violet, and cobalt and sky blue.
